NOTIFICATION: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar invites online application for the recruitment of 128 faculty posts of Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor and Professor on direct recruitment basis from Indian Nationals who are eligible & interested; candidates can apply through online application up to 05-05-2014.

POST WISE DETAILS: 128 faculty posts-
1- PROFESSOR: 25 posts in various subjects.
Required Qualification: A passed of post graduate 1st class with Ph. D. in relevant discipline with 10 years teaching experience.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400/-67000/-+ AGP Rs. 10500/-.
2- ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: 55 posts in various subjects.
Required Qualification: A passed of post graduate (first class pass) with Ph. D. in relevant discipline with six years teaching experience.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400/-67000/-+ AGP Rs. 9500/-.
3- ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: 48 posts (UR-28, SC-3, ST-3, OBC-14) in various subjects.
Required Qualification: A passed of post graduate (first class pass) with Ph. D. in relevant discipline with three years teaching experience.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600/ - 39100/-+AGP Rs. 8000/- for regular and Rs. 7000/- & Rs. 6000/- for contract faculty in various Departments.
REQUIRED AGE: Refer official notification.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.
REQUIRED FEE: Unreserved category candidates have to pay an application fee Rs.500/- and reserved category candidates have to pay Rs.250/- in the Account of “Director, NIT Silchar in State Bank of India A/C No. – 10521277057, IFSC Code – SBIN0007061”. Refer official notification.
POST RESERVATION: Reservation is applicable for Scheduled caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Ex Serviceman candidates.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Interview.
