Q - What is your greatest weakness?Ans. – OR this question may be asked as why shouldn't we hire you? There are 3 ways to tackle such type of questions. You must judge the situation and use one way out of them.
1st way: - Use your sense of humour. If the interview is proceeding in the light way of questioning and you have built up a good rapport with the interviewer, you can get out of it by saying “Ice cream” accompanying it with a right body language.
2nd Way: - OR if you think to answer this question in serious way, you must give a weakness which doesn’t relate to the job under discussion at that point. For an example you can say, I have been using a camera since childhood but I still do not know how to mend it, if it is spoiled I have to take it to an expert of camera.
3rd way: - You must understand the requirement of the role under discussion and say that other accuse in which you have that weakness but make sure that it is important for your work.
You can say an example, if job needs a detailed study and leaving a single step might need you to repeat the whole process say for that “My colleagues accuse me of having a too much eye for detail but I have experienced that to do this work you need to go into details rather than cutting corners. I have worked with many people following a shorter route and doing the whole exercise again, which I would not prefer to do.”
Q - What is your greatest strength? / ‘What is your greatest relevant strength? OR Why should we hire you?
Ans. – You must say them a strength that they want to buy, keep your answer ready by understanding the job profile. Understand an example, if the job needs you to have convincing answers ready for any type customer’s questions, you can sell product with “your presence of mind” OR if you are required to change you sector OR industry you can offer “your adaptability” please as an answer.
For this it is very important to keep ready min 2 examples of the mentioned strength.
Q - What is your greatest achievement?
Ans. – You must say your some achievements in past if you have. The underlying agenda is to know what personal qualities were required to achieve it. So don’t go back too far to answer this question as this might give an impression that you have not achieved anything since then.
You must remember relevant answer from the recent past for this question. If you are a fresher and have been a topper of your college OR University, you can tell that during the interview.
