NOTIFICATION: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold a Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination- 2014, which is tentatively scheduled on 24-08- 2014 for recruitment of various posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and certain other Group “A” and Group “B” Central Services / Posts. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites online applications for the recruitment of civil services- 2014 from eligible & interested Indian residents; candidates can apply through online mode application up to 30-06-2014.
Candidates can download detail advt. /notification from official website for recruitment information like required age/ reservation in age/ required education qualification/ required application fee/ reservation for posts/ syllabus/ date of test/last date to apply/number of posts/name of department/ mode of selection/ how to apply and other instructions.
POST WISE DETAILS: Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other Group “A” and Group “B” Central Services-
NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of candidates, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows-
1. General Category candidates: Six attempts.
2. Physical Handicapped Category candidates: Nine (No limit if SC/ST) attempts.
3. OBC Category candidates: Nine attempts.
4. SC / ST Category candidates: No Limit attempts.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: A passed of a Graduate Degree or its equivalent qualification in any discipline or specified qualification as per post requirement of a recognized University.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Police Regulations given in Govt. notice.
REQUIRE AGE: A candidate must have the age in between of 21 years and 32 years on 01-08- 2014, i.e. he must have born not earlier than 02-08-1982 and not later than 01-08-1993.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable as per the Govt. rules for SC/ ST /OBC and Ex Serviceman category candidates.
REQUIRED FEE: An amount of Rs. 100/- as an application fee by General & OBC category candidates to be paid either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by Cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner& Jaipur/Sate Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala /State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
Female/SC/ST & PH category candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
POST RESERVATION: The reservation for different categories will be regulated as per provision of the Govt. of India as amended from time to time.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in Preliminary Examination and Main Examination.
