NOTIFICATION: Indian Army, recruitment section invites offline applications for the recruitment of 54 Short Service Commission Officers from married/unmarried MALE and unmarried FEMALE candidates and also from Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel in the Indian Army under NCC Special Entry Scheme 38th Course - OCT, 2015, from young, dynamic and motivated persons of Indian residents who are eligible & interested; candidates can apply offline at official website up to 27-01-2015.

POST WISE DETAILS: 54 posts of Short Service Commission Officers –
a- NCC Men: 50 posts- 45 for Gen Category and 05 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel only.
b- NCC Women: 04 posts-10% vacancies of Women are reserved for Wards of Battle Casualty of Army Personnel only.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: A passed of a Degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized University. Candidates should have served for minimum two academic years in the senior Division / Wing of N.C.C and should have obtained minimum of ‘B’ Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC for direct candidates.
Ward of Battle Causalities of Army Personnel must possess a Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years from any recognized University. NNC ‘C’ Certificate in not required.
PAY SCALE/ STIPEND & ALLOWANCES: A fixed stipend of Rs.21000/- p.m. (Rs. 15600/- as pay in Pay Band plus Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-) will be paid during training period. On completion of training they will be commissioned in the rank of Lieutenant and entitled to pay as admissible to the rank. Army also provides free Medical Facilities for self & dependents, Canteen facilities, Entitled Ration, Mess/Club/Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation, Car /Housing Loan at subsidized rate.
REQUIRED AGE: Candidate’s age should be in between 19 to 25 years as on 31-07-2014 i.e. (born not earlier than 02-07-1990 and not later than 01-07-1996).
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable as per the Govt. rules for SC/ ST /OBC & widows category candidates.

HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: The minimum acceptable height for man is 157.5 cms with co-related weight and for woman candidate are 152 cms and 42 Kg. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and Hilly Areas like Gorkhas, Nepalies, Assamies and Garhwalis, the height will relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms.
EYE SIGHT: Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse eye 6/18, myopia of not more than minus 3.50 for men and 5.50 for women including astigmatism.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION: A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the Medical board. Recruitment of 375 vacant posts of Commissioned Officers through UPSC in Defence.
POST RESERVATION: The reservation for different categories will be regulated as per provision of the Govt. of India as amended from time to time.
SELECTION PROCESS: a- All applications are to be forwarded to Rtg. Directorate (NCC Entry) through HQ DG NCC. The NCC Units/Gp HQs will forward the applications to State Directorates who in turn will forward the same to HQ DG NCC.
b- Thorough screening/Short listing of applications based on qualifications of the candidates will be carried out by the NCC Directorates and HQ DG NCC.
c- Candidates not in receipt of call letter from any of the Selection Centers for SSB interview should presume that either their applications have been received after due date or have been found ineligible or rejected during short- listing. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Candidates after short listing will be detailed for SSB interview by Directorate General of Recruiting. The decision of Headquarter DG NCC and Dte Gen Rtg in Army HQ, in the matter of Short listing and forwarding of applications to SSBs will be final.
d- On arrival at the Selection Centre the candidates will be administered stage-I of the two stages testing procedure. Candidates failing in stage-I will be sent back on the same day and those who qualify will be detained to undergo Group Tests. Psychological Tests and Interview which will extend for duration of 5 days.
e- Candidates recommended by SSBs will be required to go through Medical Exam. Candidates who are found medically fit will be placed in order of merit as per the marks obtained in SSB interview amongst the recommended candidates. Boarding and lodging during interviews at SSBs are free. Recommendation by SSB confers no right of admission to the Officers Training Academy. The final selection will be made as per the order of merit subject to medical fitness and suitability in all other respects and number of vacancies available.
f- The merit list of the recommended candidates will be displayed at the reception of DG Recruiting and Dte Gen Recruiting website.
TRAINING: Duration of training is 49 weeks.
