NOTIFICATION: Heavy Water Board (HWB), a constituent unit of Industries and Minerals Sector under Department of Atomic Energy, is primarily responsible for production of Heavy Water (Deuterium Oxide-D2O) which is used as a 'moderator' and 'Coolant' in the nuclear power as well as research reactors. HWB has mastered the complex production technology using two chemical exchange processes viz. H2S-H2O bithermal process and NH3-H2 monothermal process. India is one of the largest manufacturers of heavy water in the world and is meeting the heavy water requirements of the Indian Nuclear Power Programme. The plants based on Ammonia-Hydrogen (NH3-H2) exchange process are linked to the ammonia fertilizer plants for synthesis gas feed supply while H2S-H2O based plants are independent in this respect. HWB is successfully operating six Heavy Water Plants in the country. A technology demonstration plant using Water-Ammonia (H2O-NH3) deuterium exchange to make the ammonia based Heavy Water Plants independent of fertilizer plants is also developed and demonstrated at HWP, Baroda, Gujrat. All Heavy Water Plants have well defined Safety & Environmental Policy and maintaining excellent records in these areas.

4- Instrumentation: A passed of Diploma in Instrumentation / Electronics/ Electronics & Comm./ Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering.
5- Chemistry (Laboratory): A passed of B.Sc. with Chemistry as a Principal and Physics/ Mathematics/ Biology as subsidiary subject.
B- CATEGORY –II TRAINEE:
1- Mechanical (Fitter): A passed with minimum 60% marks in SSC with Science and Maths + ITI certificate in Fitter Trade.
2- Electrical: A passed with minimum 60% marks in SSC with Science and Maths + ITI certificate in Electrical Trade.
3- Instrument Mechanic: A passed with minimum 60% marks in SSC with Science and Maths +ITI certificate in Instrument-Mechanic/ Electronics /Electronics & Comm. / Electronics & Tele Comm. Trade Process.
4- Plant Operator: A passed of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (10+2 or 12 years schooling duration) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
REQUIRED AGE: The required age of a candidate should be in between of 18-25 years as on 01-01-2015.
1. Category-I Trainee Posts: In between of 18 years and 25 years as on 01-01-2015.
2. Category-II Trainee Posts: In between of 18 years and 22 years as on 01-01-2015.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.

REQUIRED FEE: An amount of Rs.20/-by General & OBC Candidates to be paid.
No fee from SC/ST/ Women/ Physically challenged persons & Ex-service man candidates.
POST RESERVATION: Reservation is applicable for Scheduled caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in written Test, Trade test and Interview.
