NOTIFICATION: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi has notified a recruitment to fill up 11 vacant posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in various disciplines/ Ph. D / Master Degree/Age as per UGC rules/ Pay Rs.15600-67000/-/Personal Interview/ Advertisement No. RC/53/2015/ JNU Delhi Recruitment 2015 Faculty Vacancies/Apply Offline up to 07-09-2015.
ABOUT: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus is a microcosm of the Indian nation, drawing students from every nook and corner of the country and from every group and stratum of society. To make sure that this is so, annual admission tests are simultaneously held at 37 centres spread across the length and breadth of the country, and special care is taken to draw students from the underprivileged castes and ethic groups by reserving 22.5 per cent of seats for them. Overseas students form some 10 percent of the annual intake. Students' hostels and blocks of faculty residences are interspersed with one another, underlining the vision of a large Indian family. Even as class room teaching and, work in the library and the laboratories have their share in the mode of instruction, personal interaction between students and teachers and among students themselves form an extremely important and lively medium of generation and transmission of knowledge. Sometimes high decibel disputes about the validity of theoretical premises or cultural substructures of a particular scientific or economic thesis do spill over from the class and hostel rooms onto the middle of the campus roads, at times causing traffic bottlenecks. Happily, these have never caused a road accident! The annual Students Union elections are conducted entirely by students. Fierce poster and cartoon wars, verbal duels and competitive yet peaceful group meetings are a viewers' delight during the elections. Violence is the only alien on the campus.

1 - Professor -
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000/-+ AGP Rs. 10000/-.
Required Qualification: A passed with an eminent scholar with a doctoral degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, and actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
2 - Associate Professor -
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000/-+AGP Rs. 9000/-.
Required Qualification: A passed good academic record with doctoral degree in concerned or allied/relevant discipline from any recognized University.
3 - Assistant Professor -
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-+AGP Rs. 6000/-.
Required Qualification: A passed good academic record with at least 55% marks or, an equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E and F at the Master’s Degree level, in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from accredited foreign University.
REQUIRED AGE: Candidate’s age should be as per UGC rules.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.
REQUIRED FEE: No application fee is required because vacancies are reserved for PWD candidates.
POST RESERVATION: Reservation is applicable for Scheduled caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates.
