NOTIFICATION: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has notified a recruitment to fill up 51 vacant posts of various Police Officers from the candidates who have qualified in Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2014, as notified vides Notification No. PSC/EX-15/47 dated.05-10-2015. A must be a permanent resident of J&K State; and must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from any recognized University in India or from any Foreign University and having eligible age limit. The Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in personal interview. The selected candidates will be paid a salary as per Govt. Rules. NOTIFICATION NO. PSC/EXAM/2015/49. ABOUT: Till the end of the year 1954 there was no formal recruiting agency in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. A Public Service Recruitment Board was set up on December 31, 1954. Subsequently with the coming into force of the "Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir State" on 26th of January 1957, "Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission" was established, under section 128 of the Constitution of J&K, on September 2, 1957, with Major General Yadev Nath Singh PVC, as it is first Chairman. Under section 129 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir the Chairman and the Members of the Public Service Commission are appointed by the Governor for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: A passed of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2014, as notified vides Notification No. PSC/EX-15/47 dated.05-10-2015. A must be a permanent resident of J&K State; and must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from any recognized University in India or from any Foreign University declared by Government in consultation with the Commission to be equivalent to a degree of any recognized University.
PAY SCALE: As per Govt rules.
REQUIRED AGE: Candidate’s age should be in between of 21 years- 35 years as on 01-01-2015 i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 01-01-1979 and not later than 01-01 -1993.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.
REQUIRED FEE: Application fee for the recruitment of Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service and J&K Police Service for vacancies in Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission JKPSC is Rs. 505/- for General Category and Rs. 255/- for reserved Categories.
POST RESERVATION: Reservation is applicable for Scheduled caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates.
