Joint Public Service Commission, the precursor of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), with its writ running from the Khyber Pass to the Jamuna near Delhi, was born at Lahore on May 1, 1937. In the wake of the partition, the Punjab Public Service Commission resurged in February, 1948, at Shimla with its revised jurisdiction extending over the then province of east Punjab. Following the merger of the states of Punjab and Pepsu, it shifted to Patiala on nov.1st, 1956. On 1st nov1966, its territorial jurisdiction again decreased due to the formation of the states of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

Punjab PSC Recruitment 2015 – As per Punjab Public Service Commission notification, There are approximately 80 Assistant District Attorney and 03 Deputy District Attorney posts are available in the organization so interested and who wish to apply these vacancies must have done a Degree of Bachelor of Law (professional Degree) from any recognized University qualified holder can apply for these vacancies OR Candidates must be a Barrister of England or Ireland or member of Faculty of Advocate of Scotland and should be eligible for being enrolled as an advocate under Advocate Act, 1961 and have seven years experience of practice at the bar.
PAY SCALE: As per details given below –
1. Deputy District Attorney: Rs.15600 to 39100/-+ GP Rs.5400/-.
2. Assistant District Attorney: Rs.10300 to 34800/-+ GP Rs.4800/-.
REQUIRED AGE: Candidate’s age should be in between of 18 years – 37 years as on 01-01-2015.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.
