ABOUT: The Manipur State Power Company Limited (M.S.P.C.L.), Electricity was introduced in the state of Manipur in 1930 with the commissioning of two micro hydel power stations having capacities of 100 KW and 56 KW. The capacity remained the same till the end of first five year plan. An 11 KV transmission line was commissioned between Imphal and Leimakhong to evacuate power from these power stations. The state had only 26 km of 11 KV lines and 45 km of domestic lines to serve the limited number of consumers.
