ABOUT: The British Government established a Public Service Commission in the year 1923, to examine the salary structure of the Indian Civil Service. The Commission was composed of four Englishmen and four Indian with Lord Lee of Fareham serving as its Chairman. The Commission also addressed the rate of Indianization of the Indian Civil Service and the Indian Police. It determined a rate which in fifteen years would make the Indian Civil Service with a fifty per cent Indian membership and the same in twenty-five years for the Indian Police.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: A passed of S.S.L.C public examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of studies. Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil. Candidates selected for appointment to the post will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness in the form prescribed form given in notification & with defective vision should produce eye fitness certificate from a qualified eye specialist.
PAY SCALE: Rs.5200-20200/- + GP Rs.2400/-.
REQUIRED AGE: Required age of candidates should be in between of 18 - 30 years as on 01-07-2015.
AGE RELAXATION: As per Govt rules age relaxation is applicable for said post to all reserved category candidates.

Scheme of Written Examination:
A - Two types of question papers will be set -
1 - Type-1: General Studies + General Tamil will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Basics of Village Administration (25 items), Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (20 items) and General Tamil (80 items).
2 - Type-2: (General Studies + General English) will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Basics of Village Administration (25 items), Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (20 items) and General English (80 items).
B - Candidates are given the option to choose either General Tamil or General English for answering the 80 items apart from answering the 120 (75+25+20) items on General Studies, Basics of Village Administration and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test.
C - The 80 questions on General Tamil/ General English will be set in the respective languages and the remaining 120 questions will be set both in English and Tamil.
