NOTIFICATION: Indian Navy (A Government of India Undertaking, Ministry of Defence) inviting online applications from unmarried male candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) in Pilot/NAIC and unmarried male & female candidates for Short Service Commission in Observer entry of the Indian Navy for course commencing Jan 2017 at the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala for Short Service Commissioned Officers from eligible and interested willing candidates. REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: As per details given below –
1. Pilot & Observer: A passed of BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with Physics and Maths at 12th Standard with minimum percentage in BE/B.Tech for Pilot entry is 60% and for Observer entry is 55%.CPL holder must have valid and current CPL issued by DGCA (India) from any recognized Institute/University.
2. NAIC: A passed of BE/ B.Tech with 60% in any one of the streams i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Instrumentation, IT, Chemical Metallurgy and Aerospace Engineering from any recognized Institute/University.
PAY SCALE: Promotion from Sub-Lieutenant to Commander is one time scale basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions.
1. SUB LIEUTENANT (SLt) - Rs.15600/-39100/-+GPRs. 5400/-+MSP.
2. LIEUTENANT (Lt) - Rs.15600/-39100/-+GPRs. 6100/-+MSP.
3. LIEUTENANT COMMANDER (Lt Cdr) - Rs.15600/-39100/-+GPRs. 6600/-+MSP.

SSC: Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable up to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance OR willingness of the candidate.
REQUIRED AGE: Candidate’s required age should be as per Defence rules –
1. Pilot & Observer: 19 to 24 years for General candidates, born between 02 Jan 1993 and 01 Jan 1998; both dates inclusive.
2. CPL Holders: 19 to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1992 and 01 Jan 1998; both dates inclusive. (Applicable for Pilot entry only).
3. NAIC: 19 ½ to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1992 and 01 Jul 1998; both dates inclusive.
PHYSICAL STANDARD: As per details given below -
A - Pilot & Observer:
Eye Sight: Distant Vision 6/6, 6/9 Correctable to 6/6, 6/6 should not be colour blind/night blind.
Height:
• Male – 162.5 cms.
• Female – 152 cms.
Weight: With correlated weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length.
B - NAIC:
Eye Sight: Distant Vision 6/60, 6/60 Correctable to 6/6, 6/12 should not be colour blind/night blind.
Height:
Male – 157 cms.
Weight: With correlated weight, as per age and height.
AGE RELAXATION: As per Govt rules age relaxation is applicable for said post to all reserved category candidates.
REQUIRED APPLICATION FEE: For said vacancy a non refundable application fee is to be paid by the candidates as per rules. No application fee is required.
TRAINING: The training is tentatively scheduled to commence in the month of Jan 2017 at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. Full pay and allowances are admissible to the officers whilst under training. Only unmarried candidates are eligible to undergo training.
POST RESERVATION: All reserved category candidates ie. SC/ST/OBC/ Women/ Widows etc (as applicable) are being selected for said post/s as per existing Govt policy/rules.
