NOTIFICATION: Indian Navy (Government of India, Ministry of Defence) inviting online applications for filling up various vacant posts of Sailor for Artificer Apprentice Recruits (AA) -Feb 2018 for course commencing in Feb 2018 from eligible and interested willing candidates. NO OF POSTS: Various vacant posts of Sailor for Artificer Apprentice (AA) -Feb 2018 in Indian Navy.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: A passed of 10+2/ equivalent examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and at least one of the subjects of Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science from any recognized Board/Institute/ University.
PAY SCALE: During the initial training period, stipend of Rs 5700/- pm will be paid. After completion of successful training they will be placed in pay scale of Rs 5200-20200/-. In addition, they will be paid Grade Pay @ Rs 2000/- + MSP @ Rs 2000/- + 'X' Group Pay @ Rs 1400/- + DA.
AGE LIMIT: Candidates should have been born in between of 01-02-1998 to 31-01-2001 (Both dates inclusive) for Indian Navy Recruitment 2017 for (AA) Sailors Posts.
AGE RELAXATION: As per Govt. rules age relaxation is applicable for said post to all reserved category candidates.
TRAINING: The training for the course will commence in February 2018, with 09 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch / Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.
REQUIRED APPLICATION FEE: For said vacancy a non- refundable application fee is to be paid by the candidates as per rules. Refer notification. The application can be uploaded from Common Service Centres (CSC) across the country, against fixed fee of Rs 60/-.
POST RESERVATION: All reserved category candidates ie. SC/ST/OBC /Women /Widows etc (as applicable) are being selected for said post/s as per existing Govt. policy/rules.
SELECTION PROCESS: Applicants who are screened for applicability /eligibility are being selected as per organization policy/rules depending on the basis of their performance in Written Test, qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.
1. Written Test:
(a) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type.
(b) The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.
(c) The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the examination is available on Indian Navy website.
(d) Duration of examination will be one hour.
(e) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate.
2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
(a) Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
(b) PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
(c) Advisory - Proficiency in sports, swimming and extra-curricular activities is desirable.
3. Medical Standards:
(a) Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
(b) Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum chest expansion of 5 cms.
(c) The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as per Navy Order (Special) 01/2008. Extract of the Navy Order can be accessed from the official recruitment website.
(d) Initial Medical Examination for recruitment will be considered only “Provisionally fit subject to fitness in the final medical examination”. Final Medical Examination of all selected candidates will be done at INS Chilka. Candidates who are NOT found medically fit in the final medical examination at INS Chilka will NOT be enrolled for training. No “Appeal” is permitted for review after the final enrolment medical examination at INS Chilka.
