NOTIFICATION: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Thursday issued the tentative answer key of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 1 examination, 2017.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Thursday released the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination, 2017 answer key at it official website – www.sss.nic.in. The commission had earlier scheduled the date of release of its answer key on September 18. The notification released by the SSC read, “The Commission had conducted Combined Graduate Level Examination (Tier I), 2017 from 05-08-2017 to 24-08-2017 in the Computer Based Mode. The tentative Answer Keys for the said Examination have been uploaded on the website of the Commission i.e. www.ssc.nic.in”. Candidates who have appeared for the test can check their result on the official website as the link has been activated by the commission. The commission had conducted Combined Graduate Level Tier-I Examination, 2017 between August 05 and August 23 across the country.
As many as 15,43,962 candidates appeared in this examination which was conducted in 43 batches across the country. The commission has also informed that candidates can submit the objections, if any, between September 07 to September 12 by 5 pm through online method by paying Rs. 100/- per answer. 8. Tier IV (Skill Test) is due on: February/March 2018.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Answer Key 2017: The SSC CGL Tier 1 is an online based test and candidates have 60 minutes to solve 100 questions of 200 marks. The topics for the test were as follows -
1. General Intelligence and Reasoning.
2. General Awareness.
3. Quantitative Aptitude.
4. English Comprehension.
So, basically, each question is of 2 marks which will only be award if the candidate will choose correct answer option. If the candidates will mark incorrect response then the negative marking of 0.5 marks will be done.
How to Download SSC CGL Answer Key for Tier 1: To download the online and offline answer key of SSC CGL 2017, the candidates will have to follow the steps below -
1. Click on the link provided above.
2. Login by entering the Roll Number, Password and Exam Date.
3. Seek the answer key for your paper code and session.
4. The candidates will then have to confirm the answer key and download it.
Note: Candidates should note that they will have the opportunity to challenge the provided SSC CGL Answer Key. The challenge can also be submitted through the login. However, the candidates will have to submit the proof for the challenge and fee of Rs. 100/- (per question).
Issuance of Response Sheet with SSC CGL Answer Key 2017: The candidate’s response sheets along with the correct answers will also be released by SSC. Candidates will be able to check it from the login. The login could be accessed by entering same User Id and Password which were used during the Examination.
Calculation of Score through SSC CGL Answer Key for Tier 1: With the help of answer key, the candidates can cross-check answers in it with that mentioned in the SSC CGL 2017 Answer Key. Then, according to the marking scheme, for each correct answer candidates will add 2 marks and for each incorrect answer, it will deduct 0.5 marks.
NOTE: The candidates may use the formula below to calculate their score -
Marks obtained = (Number correct answers x 1) – (Number of incorrect answers x 0.5).
When all the questions will be checked, candidates will know their estimated score in the exam.
