EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: As per details given below -
1- Flying Branch: A passed of Graduates (Minimum 3 year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent and have passed Maths & Physics at 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree (4 year course) or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
2- Ground Duty (Technical): A passed with minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of 4 year Degree graduation/integrated Post- graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognised University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the relevant disciplines.
3- Ground Duty (Non-Technical): A passed of Graduate Degree (Minimum 3 year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with 60% marks or equivalent OR B. Com. degree (Minimum 3 year degree course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR MBA / MCA or MA / M. Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International studies / Defence studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT /Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post- Graduation (Minimum 2 year programme) and 60% marks in graduation (both recognised by UGC / Competent Accreditation Authority).
AGE LIMIT: As on 01-01-2019 for AFCAT – 01/2018 Exam Notification -
1. Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jan 2019 i.e. born in between 02 January 1995 to 01 January 1999 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relax able up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1993 to 01 January 1999 (both dates inclusive).
2. Ground Duty Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 Jan 2019 i.e. born in between 02 January 1993 to 01 January 1999 (both dates inclusive).
AGE RELAXATION: No relaxation in age for AFCAT 01/2018 Air Force Recruitment 2018-19 Flying, Technical Branch Jobs.
PAY SCALE: Rs.56100-110700/-+ MSP Rs. 15500/- and other applicable allowances –
a) Flying Branch: Rs. 85,372/-.
(b) Ground Duty (Tech) Branch: Rs. 74,872/-.
(c) Ground Duty (Non-tech) Branch: Rs. 71,872/-.
Note: Flight cadets shall receive a fixed stipend of Rs 56,100/- per month for the period of training.
Allowances: In addition to pay, allowances are applicable based on nature of duty/ place of posting and includes Flying, Technical, Field Area, Special Compensatory (Hill area), Special Force, Siachen, Island Special Duty, Test Pilot & Flight Test Engineer, Area and Remote Locality Allowance.
REQUIRED FEE: No Application Fee is required.
Conduct of Online Testing for AFCAT Examination and Fee Structure: For the first time, online testing will be conducted for AFCAT entry in various AFCAT centers. Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee. However, candidates registering for Meteorology entry and NCC Special entry are not required to pay any amount. Details of conduct, examination centres and mode of payment are given in the notification.
POST RESERVATION: No reservation is applicable for any candidate.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONING: Candidates are advised to be physically fit when you report for SSB in order to be able to undergo the tests at AFSB. You should aim to achieve an ability to run 01 mile (1.6 kms) in 10 mins, do 10 pushups and 03 chin ups. Prospective candidates are also advised to keep themselves in good physical condition to adapt to physical training at AFA which encompasses running, swimming, rope climbing and other forms of physical training/conditioning in which they would undergo mandatory tests during training.
TRAINING: Training will commence in the first week of January 2019 for all courses at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad). The duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments. PAN Card, Aadhaar card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy (AFA).
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Candidates will be selected based on the performance in AFCAT & Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (for candidates applied for technical branch only) followed by Intelligence Test, Psychological Test, Group Test, Medical Test and Interview conducted by Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs). Candidates applying for Flying Branch must appear for CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System), Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).
All applicants whose applications are submitted by due date will be called for AFCAT on 27 August 2017 (Sunday) at one of the examination centres. Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) will also be conducted for Ground Duty (Technical) branch along with AFCAT. AFCAT will be for two hours and will contain multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude. Sample question papers and syllabus of AFCAT/ EKT is available on IAF career website www.careerairforce.nic.in. EKT would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT. It is mandatory for the candidates opting for Ground Duty (technical) branch to pass both AFCAT & EKT.
Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of AFCAT/ EKT will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi. Candidates who opt for flying branch can opt for Dehradun, Mysore and Varanasi only.
