Department Wise Vacancies -
1. Professor: 34 Posts
2. Associate Professor: 47 Posts.
3. Director: 03 Posts.
4. Librarian: 01 Post.
5. Deputy Librarian: 01 Post.
6. Assistant Director: 01 Post.
7. Assistant Professor (Lie Bound): 01 Post.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: A passed of An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers with 10 years experience/A Ph.D. in Physical Education with 10 years experience/A master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent B grade in UGC with 13 years experience/Good academic record with a Ph. D Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines or A master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) with 8 years experience/A master’s Degree in library science/information science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent Grade of B with 5 years experience/Good Academic record with Ph.D. Degree in the subject of Gandhian Studies/Political Science/Peace Studies/Buddhist Studies/ Philosophy or A master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) with 8 year’s experience/Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University and NET/SET/SLET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition.
AGE LIMIT: Required maximum age should not exceed 60 years as on closing date for Jammu University Recruitment 2018 Teaching & Non- Teaching Vacancy.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.
PAY SCALE: As per details given below -
1. Professor/Director: Rs.37400-67000/- + Grade Pay Rs.10000/-.
2. Librarian: Rs.37400-67000/- + Grade Pay Rs.10000/-.
3. Associate Professor, Deputy Librarian, Assistant Professor (Lie bound): Rs.37400-67000/- + Grade Pay of Rs.9000/-.
REQUIRED APPLICATION FEE: A non- refundable Application Fee of Rs.1330/- or by sending crossed Indian Postal order or Bank Draft worth Rs.1400/- to be paid along with application form drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Jammu, Jammu-180006 encash able at Jammu Post Office/Bank as the case may be.

POST RESERVATION: Reservation is applicable for Scheduled caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in Academic Background and Interview (Academic Background, Research Performance based on API score and quality of publications, Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skills, Interview performance).
A- The criteria for selection of candidates for the post of Professor /Director /Librarian/Associate Professor/Deputy Librarian/Assistant Director as per the UGC guidelines as is indicated below -
(a) Academic Background (20%).
(b) Research Performance based on API score and quality of publications (40%).
(c) Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skills (20%).
(d) Interview performance (20%).
B- Selection criteria for Assistant Professor -
(a) Academic Record and Research Performance (50%).
(b) Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skills (30%).
(c) Interview performance (20%).
