EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: A passed of good academic record with atleast 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E and F at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University, (b) Knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit upto Matric standard or higher education, (C) “National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grant Commission, Counsel of Scientific and Industrial Research or similar test accredited by the University Grant Commission like SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment as Assistant Professor in Colleges: Provided that the candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grant Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. degree) regulation, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent position in colleges. Provided further that NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted”.
NOTE: Who have passed SET examination after June, 2002, the SET qualified candidates shall be eligible for appointment to the post of Lecturer only in the University/Colleges belonging to the State from where they have passed the SET examination. The status of SET shall remain unchanged for SET examinations conducted prior to 1st June, 2002 i.e., the candidates clearing SET were eligible for appointment to the post of Lecturer anywhere in India, as mentioned in the proviso of the qualification for the post of Assistant Professor (College Cadre), the candidates concerned are requested to submit a certificate from competent authority with respect to the Ph.D. degree awarded to them that awarded Ph.D. degree is in accordance with the University Grant Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. degree) regulation, 2009. However, those candidates who had registered for Ph.D. degree prior to July 11, 2009, they are exempted from the passing of the conditions of NET, if they fulfill the following conditions:-
a- Ph.D degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
b- Evaluation of the Ph.D thesis by at least two external examiners;
c- Open Ph.D viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
d- Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D work out of which at least one must be in a referred journal;
e- Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.
Important: (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University instructions).’
AGE LIMIT: Candidate’s required age should be in between of 21 years – 42 years as on 15-04-2019 for HPSC Recruitment 2019 Apply Online for 524 Assistant Professor Jobs.
