Why is NET Exam required?
The National Eligibility Test (NET), also known as
UGC NET or CBSE NET, is a test to determine
eligibility for college and university level lectureship and for the award of
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals. It aims to ensure
minimum standards for the entrants in teaching professions and research.
What percentage is required for NET Exam?
Candidates must have scored at least 55% aggregate marks
(50% for SC/ST, OBC- NCL, PwD) in Master's Degree or equivalent Examination from
university recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social
Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science and others to be
eligible for UGC NET 2019.
What is the difference between NET and NET JRF?
That whose rank is higher gets the NET-JRF after
which one can apply in various institutions for admission to Ph.D.
programs. NET is only a qualifying Exam- it does not ensure
one's admission in any university. For that one has to face the interview
board. Students who qualify as JRF are also eligible for lectureship.
