Is it compulsory to do Ph. D after NET?
In addition to the Ph.D., aspirants will have to clear the National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (state level eligibility test) or other similar Exams, HRD ministry officials added. “The Seventh Pay Commission had recommended that Ph. D should be the minimum eligibility for Recruitment at universities.
Is NET is necessary for Ph. D?
Not compulsory for Ph.D. Many universities and institutes have their own Ph.D. admission Exams. However NET SET is compulsory for lectureship in colleges and universities. NO, PHD from good institutions like IIT and some NIT you must qualified GATE Exam and then you will get job easily without NET.
What is the benefit of passing NET Exam?
NET stands for National Eligibility Test and it is conducted for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. You must have a Post Graduate degree with 55% marks to become eligible for UGC NET. For SC/ST only 50% marks is required because they are provided relaxation in marks due to reserved category.
What is the benefit of qualifying NET Exam?
Eligibility for UGC-NET/JRF Exam
Aspirants who have secured a M. Sc or equivalent degree with 55% marks for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D. degree holders who had passed Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991 are eligible.
How many papers are there in NET JRF?
NET JRF – Exam Pattern
The candidates appear for two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2, conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT). Paper 1 comprises of 50 questions and Paper 2 consists of 100 questions.
Is it easy to pass NET Exam?
No, the graduate candidates are not eligible for the UGC NET Exam. The NET Exam is conducted for the Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship Award. There are two Exams conducted as CSIR NET and UGC NET Exam.

UGC-NET is merely a certification that makes you as eligible for lectureship and research fellowship. If you clear NET-LS, you can apply for teaching positions (assistant professor) in colleges and universities throughout the country. Once you get the job, you will receive a salary of around Rs. 45,000/- per month.
What is the salary of UGC NET qualified lecturer?
UGC NET qualified candidates can easily get a salary of 45,000/-INR per month for the post of assistant professor, 80,000/-INR per month for the post of associate professor and 82,000/-INR per month for the post of professor.
