Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued an examination notification (No.
04/2020-NDA-I) for filling up of 418 vacancies under NDA & NA 2020-1. Only unmarried male
candidates are eligible to apply this UPSC NDA I Exam 2020. An Examination will be
conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 19th April, 2020 for
admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for
the 145th Course and for the 107th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC)
commencing from 2nd January, 2021. UPSC NDA I Exam 2020 apply online link has been activated
now and the last date for submission of application is 28-01-2020.

B - Naval Academy (NA II) (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 45 posts.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: As per details given below -
1. Army Wing of National Defence Academy: A passed of 12th Class of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
2. Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: A passed of 12th Class of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or any University.
NOTE: Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2019 as per guidelines given in Appendix-IV.
PAY SCALE: During training period all cadets will get Rs. 56100/- p. m and after successful training they will be placed in pay matrix level 10 of Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500/- and many other allowance applicable time to time and applicable DA for UPSC NDA & NA II Recruitment 2019 for 415 Posts Apply Online.
AGE LIMIT: Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd January, 2001 and not later than 1st January, 2004 are eligible.

Physical Conditioning: Prospective candidates are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition, by following the under mentioned routine —
A- Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes.

E- Rope climbing 3-4 metres.

TRAINING: The selected candidates for the three services viz, Army, Navy and Air Force are given preliminary training both academic and physical for a period of 3 years at the National Defence Academy which is an Inter-Service Institution. The training during the first two and half years is common to the cadets of three wings. All the cadets on passing out will be awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi as under -
1. Army Cadets - B. Sc/ B. Sc (Computer)/ B.A.
2. Naval Cadets - B. Tech Degree.
3. Air Force Cadets - B. Tech Degree.
Note: All the cadets undergoing B. Sc/B. Sc (Computer)/BA Degree programme shall be awarded the degree on the successful completion of Academics, Physical and Service Training at NDA. All the cadets undergoing B Tech programme shall be awarded the B. Tech degree on the subsequent Pre Commissioning Training Academies/ Institutions/ Ships/ Air Craft.
• The selected candidates of the Naval Academy will be given preliminary training both academic and physical, for a period of 04 years at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The cadets of 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme will be awarded a B. Tech Degree on successful completion of training.
• On passing out from the National Defence Academy, Army Cadets go to the Indian Military Academy, Dehra Dun, Naval Cadets to Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force cadets to AFA, Hyderabad.
• At the I.M.A. Army Cadets are known as Gentlemen Cadets and are given strenuous military training for a period of one year aimed at turning officer capable of leading infantry Sub-units. On successful completion of training Gentlemen Cadets are granted Permanent Commission in the rank of Lt subject to being medically fit in "SHAPE" one.
• The Naval cadets are selected for the Executive Branch of the Navy, on passing out from the National Defence Academy and are given further training at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala for a period of one year on successful completion of which they are promoted to the rank of Sub Lieutenants.
• Air Force Cadets receive flying training for a period of 1½ years. However, at the end of 1 year of training they are given provisional Commission in the rank of Flying Officer. After successful completion of further training of six months they are absorbed as permanent commissioned officers on probation for a period of one year.

CENTRES OF EXAMINATION: The Examination will be held at the following Centres -
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Bengaluru, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Udaipur and Vishakhapatnam.
SELECTION PROCESS: Applicants who are screened for applicability /eligibility are being selected as per organization policy/rules depending on the basis of their performance in Written Examination, Psychological Aptitude Test, Intelligence Test /SSB Test / Interview and Medical Test. The selection process of NDA 2019 will be completed in 3 stages -
1. Written examination.
2. Personal Interview.
3. Medical review by Command Hospital.
NOTE: The qualified candidates of written examination will be called to attend personal interview at SSB centres allotted by SSC and then successful candidates will be eligible for Medical review. Personal interview will be scheduled in 5 days. The candidates will be shortlisted and made to do the task either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Card/Rupay Credit/Debit Card.
E ADMIT CARD: The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination.

PAPER 2 GENERAL ABILITY TEST (Code No.2) (Max Marks 600) -
• PART A – English.
• PART B – General Knowledge.
• SECTION A – Physics.
• SECTION B – Chemistry.
• SECTION C – General Sciences.
• SECTION D – History, Freedom Movements.
• SECTION E – Geography.
• SECTION F – Current Affairs.
Questions on Section A B C D E and F will carry 25%, 15%, 10%, 20%, 20%, and 10% weightage.
NOTE: There will be negative marking for incorrect response given by candidates.
The SSB interview consists of 2 stages i.e. stage I and stage II. The stage (I) will consist of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT). The stage (II) will comprise of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests will be organized over 4 or 5 days. Entire process will carry 900 marks.
NDA Exams focuses mainly on English, General Knowledge and Mathematics.
Question paper includes equations and questions related to subjects listed above.

HOW TO APPLY: For said posts (NDA 2019 Application Form - UPSC NDA- II for 12th Pass) eligible, willing and interested candidates may apply through online mode at official website up to last date. Applicants must retain a hard copy of online application for future use.

1. Before applying candidates have to scan photo and signature in .jpg format with file not exceeding 40 KB each and not less than 3 KB for Photo and 1 KB for Signature.
2. Candidates should have valid and active Email id.
3. Log on to the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
4. Click on the link “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC”.
5. Select the appropriate Post and click on “Click Here (Part -I)”.
6. Fill in all the mandatory fields like name, gender, etc and click on “Continue”.
7. System will generate Registration-Id, retain it for further use.
8. Make payment as mentioned in application fee and retain the details for entering in Part -II registration.
9. Again Re login and click on “Click Here (Part-II)”.
10. Login by using Registration-Id & Date of Birth.
11. Fill in all the required details and upload scanned photo and signature and click on “Submit” Button.
12. After submission of Online Application take print out of finally submitted application and retain it for future reference.
