UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
For the
Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police
Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India. For other services, s/he must
be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan; a Tibetan refugee who came
over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently
settling in India; or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan,
Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic
of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of
permanently settling in India.

UPSC Age Limits
A candidate
must be 21 years old and not more than 32 years old on the
cut-off date. The cut-off date will be mentioned in the notification.
Relaxation in
the upper age limit will be applicable to reserve category candidates.
UPSC CSE 2024 Educational Qualification
A candidate
holding a Graduate Degree from a recognised university can apply for UPSC
CSE 2024. Candidates with recognised professional qualifications
(engineering, medical, etc.) are also eligible.
Candidates
who have appeared at a qualifying examination but whose results are awaited can
also appear in the Prelims examination, but they will have to submit proof of
requisite qualifying examination in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF 1) for
the Main examination.
In
exceptional cases, the commission may treat a candidate who does not have any
of the foregoing qualifications as a candidate, provided that the candidate has
passed an examination conducted by any other institution, the standard of
which, in the opinion of the commission, justifies the admission to the Civil
Services Examination.
Candidates
who have passed the final professional MBBS or any other equivalent
professional examination but have not completed their internship by the time of
the Civil Services (Main) Examination will be provisionally admitted to
the examination, provided they submit the original degree or a certificate from
the concerned competent authority at the time of interview.

Candidates
appearing for UPSC 2024 will be issued e-admit card by UPSC
three weeks before the start of the examination. Candidates can download the e-Admit

UPSC CSE Prelim Exam Pattern 2024
Indian
Administrative Services prelims examination will
consist of two papers: General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper
2. Both will be of 100 and 80 questions respectively. Prelim exam will be of
400 marks. And the minimum passing percentage is 33%. The exam will be 4 hours
long and candidates will get 2 hours to complete each paper. The candidates
must be very careful to mark the correct answer as there will be negative
marking.
UPSC IAS Preliminary Exam Syllabus

The Indian Administrative services prelim exam is divided into two parts i.e. General
Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2. Both the papers are
