commission will announce SSC CGL Tier 1 exam dates anytime soon. Going
by the official notification, the exam will be conducted in the month of
September or October 2024. We will notify you as soon as the exact SSC CGL exam

Selection Commission has notified 17727 vacancies
for SSC CGL exam for the recruitment of various Group B & C posts.
Last year, the commission notified 8,415 vacancies for Group B and C posts, and
the year before, 37,409 vacancies were announced. Check the SSC CGL vacancy

SSC CGL 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Not everyone
can appear in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has set parameters for
minimum eligibility criteria including education qualifications, age limit, and
nationality. As per this year’s notification, the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria
is as follows-
SSC CGL 2024 Qualification
Candidates
must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. However, those who
are applying for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer must
have a Graduation degree and CA/CS/MBA/Cost & Management Accountant/ Masters in Commerce/
Masters in Business Studies. For a Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) post, a
bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution (minimum 60% in math’s in 12th)
is required:
For Junior
Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s Degree from
any recognized University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
For
Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Graduation
Degree from any recognized University with Economics Statistics or Mathematics
as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
For Research
Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC):
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of
one year of research experience in any recognized university or recognized
Research Institution.
For Remaining
posts: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a
recognized University.
SSC CGL 2024 Age Limit
The age limit
varies for each category and post. However, the standard SSC CGL age limit is 18
to 32 years. Age relaxation is permissible for candidates belonging to the
reserved categories.
SSC CGL Salary
The salary
varies depending on the post for which the candidate is selected. For Group
A posts, the initial salary ranges from Rs. 56,100/- to Rs.
1,77,500/- per month. For Group B posts, the salary falls between Rs.
35,400/- and Rs. 1,12,400/- per month. For Group C posts, the
salary ranges from Rs. 25,500/- to Rs. 81,100/- per month.
SSC CGL 2024 Application Fee
· The candidates have to pay Rs.
100/- while submitting their application form online at www.ssc.gov.in.
· Women candidates and
candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are eligible for reservation and are
exempted from payment of application fees.
· The last date to pay the
application fee is 25th July 2024 (11 pm).
· The application fee has to be
paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard,
Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards only.
SSC CGL Selection Process 2024
Two years
ago, SSC revised the selection process, and now only two-tier exams will be
conducted to shortlist candidates for various Group B and C posts under
the SSC CGL Notification 2024. SSC CGL 2024 Examination will be
conducted in four tiers as indicated below:
Stage 1
Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in
nature).
Stage 2
Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper
II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
• All
candidates who have applied successfully for the SSC CGL exam, will be assigned
Roll numbers and Admit Cards for appearing in the Computer-Based Examination
(Tier-I).
• Based on
the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to
appear in Tier-II Examination.
• Separate
cut-offs will be released separately for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post
of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), and for Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all
other posts).
• Tier-II
Exams will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.
• In Tier II,
all the candidates will be required to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II. However,
only specific candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical
Officer (JSO) will be required to appear in Paper-II.
• The final
selection list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by the candidates
solely in Paper 2.
