Educational Qualification

The educational requirements vary based on the academy:

 

1.    Indian Military Academy (IMA): A degree from a recognized university or equivalent.


2.    Indian Naval Academy (INA): A degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.


3.    Air Force Academy (AFA): A degree (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.


4.    Officers’ Training Academy (OTA): A degree from a recognized university or equivalent.


 


Experience

No prior work experience is required. Fresh graduates meeting the educational criteria are encouraged to apply.


 


Age Limit

1.    Indian Military Academy (IMA): 19-24 years (born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2006).


2.    Indian Naval Academy (INA): 19-24 years (born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2006).


3.    Air Force Academy (AFA): 20-24 years (born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005).


4.    Officers’ Training Academy (OTA): 19-25 years (born between January 2, 2000, and January 1, 2006).


 


Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive attractive pay scales and allowances:


·       Lieutenant rank (starting salary): Approx. INR 56,100 - 1,77,500/- per month.

·        Additional allowances: Dearness allowance, military service pay, and other perks based on the academy.


 


Selection Procedure

The selection process includes:

 

1.    Written Examination: Objective-type questions covering English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics (for IMA, INA, AFA) or English and General Knowledge (for OTA).


2.    SSB Interview: A two-stage process assessing personality, leadership, and aptitude.


3.    Medical Examination: Physical and medical fitness tests conducted as per academy standards.


 


Reservation

The CDS Exam does not have direct reservations based on caste or community. However, certain relaxations and quotas may apply for NCC Certificate holders and wards of armed forces personnel.

·      General/OBC candidates: INR 200/-

·      SC/ST/Female candidates: Exempted

·       Payment can be made online via net banking, credit/debit card, or through offline mode at an SBI branch.
